Q: I’m trying to run Dark Ascents in the free Kontakt player, but it’s running in demo mode. Help.
A: The free Kontakt Player only works with those 3rd party libraries that have been officially encoded by Native Instruments. At this point in order to keep costs down, we decided to not go that route with Dark Ascents. The full version of Kontakt is required.
Q: I have the full version of Kontakt, but Dark Ascents is running in Demo Mode. How do I activate it and use the library as a full version?
A: If you actually have the full on version of Kontakt 6 and you're in demo mode, you probably added the library using the "Add Library" button. For installation and running the library, this will not work. That function (and the official library area) is reserved for developers that pay Native Instruments to officially encode the library for them. At this point in order to keep costs down, we decided to not go that route with Dark Ascents. If you try to use this, you'll end up in demo mode, which of course isn't ideal!
In short, there is no activation code, nor is there a need to run Native Access to activate Dark Ascents. To use the library, you'll need to use the File Browser in Kontakt, as well as Quickload window to make accessing them easier. Read over pages 2-4 of the Dark Ascents User Guide to get a visual on how to do this if you need.
Q: I’ve lost my Dark Ascents factory snapshots, where can I find them?
Q: I have an idea for an instrument. can i send it?
A: Yes indeed! Love to hear all about it. Please reach out on the Contact page.
