This is a collection of 20 Impulse Responses that will work with any convolution reverb plugin. Satsop Nuclear Power Plant is an unfinished nuclear complex located near Elma, Washington. Technically it consists of two nuclear reactors (named WNP-3 and WNP-5) that were part of the Washington Nuclear Project. However, neither were finished, as the money ran out at about 75% construction back in the early 1980s. Going to record IRs in this place was particularly interesting for me, as it's one of the "sister reactors" to the only functional one of the Project (WNP-2), that looms over my nuclear-centric hometown of Richland, WA. Getting to experience the guts of a place like this checked a big box off my bucket list.
I was able to get into three of the spaces in the complex - and all were incredibly epic in scale, surreal and alien (especially the cooling tower).
All Impulse Responses are stereo WAV files (48 KHz, 24-bit), recorded in ORTF using Warbler 127 series SDCs, with omni capsules. Descriptive file names and the info below will help you dial things in. A 15 second Sine wave sweep was used to excite the room from 20 Hz to 20 Khz.
Requires a convolution reverb plug-in (will work with any).
